What the hell is this, Russia? -- Larry The Cable Guy... My Idol
I haven't updated this in a good 5 months... mostly because of my lack of home internet access but also because of, well, laziness.
There's a couple things I'm upset about right now. First is the fact that the Washington Redskins are all over-paid cocksuckers that can't play ball. No, Joe Gibbs hasn't lost it. He's still calling excellent plays that can't be executed because of a shitty offensive line and an even worse [the most over-paid] quarterback, Mark Brunell. God he sucks. The fact that Clinton Portis had as many touchdown passes as Brunell two weeks ago is just sad.
Second is the fact that Mr. Douchebag, Kurt Busch, won the Nascar Winston, oh wait... Winston was a bad image... Nascar Nextel Cup Championship. He's a punk. At least Rick Hendrick had two cars (Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson) finish in the top in the standings. I hate Gordon, but for those of you that don't know, Rick Hendrick lost his son (Ricky Hendrick, former driver and car owner), brother in-law, two nieces, 6 employees and two pilots in a horrible plan crash in the mountains of Virginia nearly a month ago while they were flying to Martinsville Speedway for a Sunday race. Too bad Mark Martin couldn't pull it out in his last full season in Nascar Nextel Cup racing, but even worse that Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn't win his first cup. Most of you probably know that Junior's my boy and he needs to get a championship soon. Fifth place is quite a bit of cash, but he'll get one one of these days. At least the Busch Series Car that he owns (Chance 2 Motorsports) won with Martin Truex Jr. behind the wheel. That kid's a stud and how can you not root for the Number 8 Bass Pro Shops Chevy Monte Carlo? I mean come on!! I hate Kurt Busch. But hey, the 2005 season kicks off in 90 days with the Super Bowl of motorsports, The Daytona 500 in good ol' Sunny Florida... ha, right... sunny
If you have seen the popular 'Livestrong' bracelets that were made by Nike and Lance Armstrong in support of cancer research, check out
Hendrick Motorsports. They made bracelets in memory of those lost in the plane crash that are blue with a saying on them that was quite popular in the Hendrick camp as well as in Nascar... 'Life is a Team Sport'. Check 'em out!
Don't forget to check out ESPN on December 11th for the ESPN Original TV Movie, '3', at 9pm. '3' is a movie ESPN is making about the life of Dale Earnhardt Sr. starring Barry Pepper. Should be a doozy!!!
Moving on... The annual Davis Family River Run is in 185 days which begins with the all-night pre-party at Riece's house. Mr. Nigglesworth, Jonny D, has invited me to be his partner again for a second year in a row. This year I won't be pre-occupied with the life-changing move to Denver and we will be a force to be reckoned with. The Suwannee River will feel our wrath yet again, but this will be a year never to forget... unless we drink too much... and that's usually a problem (depending on how you look at it that is!). I must say that I am honored to partner up with Mr. D again this year and look forward to extreme drunkeness, Hank Williams Jr. and Waylon Jennings songs on my guitar/paddle, and good times with friends we haven't seen in far too long. River Run '05 Baby!!!
One last thing... Everyone knows I am a huge music connoisseur and here in Denver the local music scene is ridiculous. Keep your eyes, and ears, open for two new bands that just signed with Universal Records. 'Love 45' and 'The Fray' are two excellent bands out here that are about to go huge. They are all over the radio out here and soon to be all over the country touring. 'Love 45's new album was produced by '3 Doors Down' guitarist, Chris Henderson, and it is amazing. If you like the alternative music, you'll love both bands. Check them out at
Love45.com and
TheFray.net!!!
