Family Road Trip

When I asked for an MP3 player for Christmas, I wasn't sure what exactly the point of it would be except for not having to lug around a cd case worth a thousand dollars. I was sorely mistaken. Thanks to hours and hours of driving around the country(30 so far?)I have discovered and rediscovered many bands. I guess Bright Eyes is at the top of the list. If you haven't heard "Lifted...", it's probably my favorite album of all time. I've tried many a time to read Beloved by Toni Morrison, but it just isn't well written. Of course you can say she's intelligent and such, but it is so hard to read. This book was written like 20 years ago so you can't blame it on the time period... It just has no flow to it. The prospect of a dead ghost baby story is pretty sweet, but it just isn't working for me. This trip isn't really working for me. I am running the shit out of my phone and MP3 player batteries, recharging them, and so on and so on. I think I've decided to start collecting postcards. If you find any badass postcards, send them my way. This trip seems so long. I don't think I've ever been this homesick. I'm excited about the gift receiving that tomorrow brings. I'll have lots and lots of Best Buy gift certificates to waste on CDs which I probably won't ever listen to. I need to make better friends with my friends.
