Okay, I finally got in touch with Lynn; the sole reason my network is now working again. So, I thought I would take a moment and review for you my small, but loyal, band of readers the effectiveness (or lack there of) of the various people.
Cablevision: 3 tech support people; two arguments about my not being able to connect the way I have for the last year and a half; one disconnect (my phone's fault) - results - passed of to fix the modem at CC or to the manufacturer to change the configuration settings. Total time spent 2.5 - 3 hours.
Motorola: 1 tech support, not to much run around getting there considering I didn't have the right number to start with, and about an hour and a half to tell me that the problem was in the laptop.
Lynn: 15 minutes from memory, while waiting for food, using one reset command.
Now yes, I did call her when everything went to shit to start with, I just didn't actually get a hold of her. Though it's amazing how much fixing one little thing that's been pestering you can make you feel better despite the larger issues still unresolved.
