It still functions

So, apparently livejournal isn't dead, pulled back from the brink with a new reader to boot. The reason I haven't been posting all that much lately is I've been busy with other projects, the latest of which I just finished the second edit on last night or rather third if you count the restructuring.

Speaking of restructuring, I've had to revise my current strategy for marketing my writing. Initially, I had thought to write three novellas and use them to drum up some readers. The problem with this is the length of the novellas. The one I just finished came in approximately 18,000 words. With the average reader doing so at a rate 200 words a minute, it would take about an hour and a half to read. Solution, instead of having a short novella and two longer ones, have three short stories to put out to the various sites and have the two novellas back on a site of my own, still leading up to the novel.

Basically, what it means is that anyone who doesn't mind reading things out of order can grab a copy of this novella, there will be no more edits on it until I get some feedback. Next I will start working on the short stories or at least one of them, I have a few ideas that can work as shorter pieces.

For the short stories I still plan to stagger them amongst various people. Currently, I have four people for tier 1, and two for tier 2(only difference being expertise in grammar). Tim and Jay are the only ones on here that I've factored in, but if anyone else is willing and has the time to read a few short stories, let me know.

On a personal note, I've been having more luck at the club and am dating someone new, who I'm having a great time with. I finally took care of some much needed cleaning of my room. I still have a few problem areas to take care of, but it's looking good.

And now time for a few rants:

First, fucking players, never do what you plan for them to do. Now I am aware that no one on this was actually the one forcing me to jettison the temple I spent hours working on, but you have been guilty in the past. Hell I know I've done it as a player too. Steinbeck said, the plans of mice and men often go awry, he never dmed a rpg. As for the temple, well it's made now, someone, somewhere is going get it thrown at them.

New pet peeve. You tell someone that despite knowing that the rest of the world has a preference for something being one way, you like it the exact opposite, yet he still feels compelled to explain to you why his (and the rest of the world's) is better. I'm not changing my mind any sooner that he's going to change his.

Lastly, that with all of our great science and fancy gadgets, weathermen still can't predict anything worth a damn. To hear them talking (and this is everyone from news 12, to abc, to the fucking weather channel) you'd think this weekend was one to make Noah nervous; there were barely any showers at all.
