I know..I write too much.

If I could design one room in my own home, it would be a game room. This room would be the room where I hang out with friends, and go to relax. It would be a finished basement, about 30' by 25'. (We almost bought a house with a room like this once, Maria and me.) You'd come down the stairs, which would be by the north wall, and there would be a closet to your left. The closet itself is 10' by 8'.
Against the east wall would be the couch, and maybe a few comfy chairs. In the northeast corner the entertainment center would sit, facing south. The TV wouldn't have to be too large, but at the very least it would be a 32 inch screen. It would be hooked up to a VCR/DVD player, and every 'main stream' game system there is, starting with an original Atari.
Atari, NES, SNES, Sega, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, Colecovision, Nintendo Gamecube, and a few that I'm sure I've neglected to mention. (NO X-Box.) I'd try to have a good collection of games for each system.
On top of the entertainment center would be a stereo. Nothing fancy, just a half-way decent sound system so my guests can enjoy music if they want.
Let's see, that barely makes a dent in the size room that I want to make and fill up.
In the center of the east half would be my ping-pong table. I love ping-pong, and everyone else should too, so it'll get a lot of use. My pool table would take up the middle of the western half of the room. I think that maybe that would be shifted to be paralell with the north wall, and on the southern part of the west half of the room would be my large air hockey table.
There would be more furniture, but I'm not sure what I'd put where.
So far though, I think the room sounds like a lot of fun.
I wish I had the money to actually do this.
Someone win the lottery for me, okay?
Sorry about all the long posts.
