I've been knitting a lot lately, but not on the sweater. It's been too warm for me to have a pile of wool in my lap. I knit a wide oval brimmed hat. The pattern called for white and black cotton, but the yarn store in Redding doesn't carry 100% cotton, let alone cotton in black, so instead I got a yarn made of sugar cane fibers in white and rainbow pastels. I still need to wire the hat so that the brim will stay out and not just sag, but all the knitting is finished. Now I'm making the mate for the silk stocking I made last year. I started it two days ago and I'm already past the foot and about a quarter of the way up the calf. But the rows keep getting longer so each one takes longer. I don't know how long I'll keep working on it before I take a break.
I went and saw the movie Up. It was very cute, a good movie for couples, but the concepts seemed a little too adult for the audience it was directed at. But it was a good movie.
Hobbit got a new game on Saturday called Chaos Wars. It was like a crappy Disgaea. The voice acting made me want to stab the tv, and the combat was difficult. Today we returned it and got Eternal Poison. Hobbit now wants to play the main character in DnD (One of her first acts in the game is to force a boy into an obedience contract so that he is her slave. Neutral Evil bitch.) I want to cosplay as her at some point. She is one of the few anime characters I could easily pull off since she has long blonde hair and green eyes. And her outfit rocks.
While I was in Redding I picked up some flip flops. I hate flip flops because I don't like things between my toes, but I also hate wearing socks in the summer. I have callouses and cuts on my feet from them. I think I'll knit a cover for the straps to make them more comfortable.
Well, back to knitting.
