I was informed last night that next month is moevember. Which has lead me to an amasing discovery over a good 98% of truck drivers on the road not only have tashes but Boonie size tashes. With the Mullet back it was only a matter of time people.

Thank you for your explaination although rude it was well informed and researched.
I think it is unfair to asumme that just because someone farmilrises themself with a certain subculture that they need such verbal bashing as "Right now I'm expecting those of the black clad anti-sporting ideologue to be rolling their eyes and groaning "urgh, I see, a 'sportsman', how dull" followed shortly after with some hollow remark about how hardcore the 'scene' is, and then some other anti establishment rote learned comment ....... blah blah blah. Get over not being the cool kid in high school, people!"

I wear black and fall under the heading of goth. Yet my post clearly states I know who Boonie is!! I could also list of the top of my head a large amount of "goths" who not only follow sport but could possiably out do you in sports knowelege.

also
"I speak of course of the 1989 Ashes cricket series... those of you I respect will be currently nodding your heads and smiling already...
The scene - the flight to London for the said 1989 Ashes test cricket series."

I would like to state that in 1989 i was 9yrs old how about you spiderlillies?

Cuddles to all

I would like to add (for the record) that I rolled my eyes at the comment made about said sporting personality. I am not a goth and I find sport boring, drab, dull and pointless. I'm not passing judgement on others.... just adding my own 'spin' on the situation. I'm sure back in '89 I was doing something more productive that memorising test scores.

Like playing with a kitten.
Or reading a mad magazine while on the loo.
Or playing Lesiure Suit Larry 2 and learning about sex.

Just clarifying the 'spin'.......... captain_schmooz October 29 2005, 10:06:22 UTC
I would like to add (for the record) that you have a moe!

I would like to further add (for the record), that there are as yet unconfirmed reports that you were a goth in your teenage years!

hehehe

I do have a mo.... and a very special thing it is. ;)

It is also true that for a few brief days in my more venaurable years i did don the foundation and face paint and try my luck at 'Abyss'. It was actually the first club I ever heard an Orbital track played at.... and Orbital were the techno outfit that got me into Rave culture.

Weird how these things turn out eh?

I sincerely make an unreserved apology for any sweeping generalisations I made about goths!

No really!

But please consider also the following..

1. I think there is another subcategory of people who have been maligned by a sweeping stereotypical image in all this (perhaps the subtle underlying point)...... and this time it was not made by me..... "an amasing discovery over a good 98% of truck drivers on the road not only have tashes but Boonie size tashes"....ahem. Did you count them yourself?

2. Don't get me started on the apparent obsession with a subculture to outdo everyone on everything. Except sports. You should all become buddhists and learn about the middle way.

3. Congratulations on your 9th birthday! Are you still playing with stuffed toys? I would like to point out that David Boon has not played professional cricket for many years and yet you still know who he is!

Ok enough now..... my point of offense with your original post was the malicious jibe at facial hair. Your jealousy is transparently obvious! Secondly, I am participating in 'Movember' to raise money for prostate cancer research. I tell you what - you seem to enjoy a bit of statistical analysis so why not do it productively - go find out abut how many charities there are for women's health issues (breast cancer wek, cervical cancer week - both with free screening programs etc etc), and then mens (ummmm.... movember?). Build a ratio. Seriously, there is something wrong in this world!

Do you realise that more men die each year from prostate cancer than women do from breast cancer? Seriously! How many of you know what a prostate is?

Do something productive - become a 'Mo-Ho' and help raise awareness for a mens medical issue. Do something to positively distinguish yourself amongst your sub-culture!

The clincher - if you raise $1,000 you get a certificate of appreciation personally signed by the great man Boonie himself!

Anyone wanting more information about mens health issues, what they can do to help, or how to participate in a fun event to raise awareness about mens health issues, go to www.movember.com.au and follow you moes!

"I was informed last night that next month is moevember....... With the Mullet back it was only a matter of time people." You've now been informed of the real reason for Movember - I sincerely hope that you reconsider your stance on the validity and relevance of this noble event, or in the least retract your malicious association between moes and mullets.

You know who i am you know how old i am and you should know that i still play with stuffed toys. My point was that myself and spiderlillies were infact quite young in the age of the Boone and mabybe that could be a reason for not knowing...but we do coz were cool.

Inclosing i state this post was a joke. I had mearly been driving aroung stoned and noticed a large amount of moes i apologise for nothing goodnight.

Don't want you to apologise for anything, just retract the association between moes and mulletts!

I find great amusement in how this post has spiralled out of control!

Have I met Spiderlillies? Is she one of those cute goth chicks that I've seen around yours or tantalizeme's and secretly had a crush on, but now entirely blown any chance? Hahaha
