Yule Feast gone wild

Dec 07, 2008 20:36

Okay, yesterday was the event I autocratted. Yule Feast went smashingly. Everyone had a great time, we had tons of thank you's. It was an awesome time! Overall, I think there was a great feeling of satisfaction on everyone's part. There were a few things we would have done differently (distributing the carolling booklets, the way the courses were served, having a specific "clean up" team) but overall, it was a great time.

Personally, I was exhausted today and full of a great many insights. I love service. I really and truly just want to do things to make people happy and enjoy themselves. I hate conflict, especially conflict that can't be resolved. When two people can't work it out enough to be amicable, it just sucks. If you do good things, people will get motivated and involved and want to do good things too. Sometimes, egos do get in the way, but that's humanity. Everyone is happy and excited in the early day, but by the end of 14 hours we all want sleep. Lots of sleep. And pie. I'm happy to be a Lady (my silly husband called my Lady Carrie today) and to be a member of the order of the Crystal. I look forward to more service and making people happy.

My legs are in pain from being up and around on hardwood floors for so long, I was dehydrated because I was a silly non-water drinking crat and I'm paying for it today. Tomorrow, I'll be better. Today, I relax.
