Viper Room: Part One
The pix came out better than I thought! They look much better on the computer screen than they do on the small camera screen!
Jay said "That's a strange one" when we looked at it on the screen. I thought so, too, so I asked for another one. It did look strange on the camera. Why didn't anyone tell me that I have a fat face?!?!?!
Not the glamourous look I was going for, but what would YOU do with Jay Aston's lips on your temple?
My sister & I were hungry on the way to The Viper Room & we wanted Jamba Juice. As usual, there's no parking in Hollywood & we didn't want to pay to park in the parking structure, just for smoothies. We drove around for a bit, and like I said before, no parking. We gave in & parked in the structure. And of course, Jamba Juice had closed by then. We went to this place called Topz & had fries, bad fries. Ewww. We had our parking thing validated & didn't have to pay :p It was 8.50 by the time we left, which made me anxious, even though we were close to the venue. Turns out our timing was perfect!
We parked at the Viper Room, and as we were walking to the door, I saw 2 slim figures in black, crossing the street towards us. I said "Is that Jay?" My sister said "Looks like him". Yup, it was Jay & Tommy. I walked a bit faster, and Jay saw me. He pointed at me & said "My girl!" [awwww] I said "Hi Jay!" We hugged & chatted for a minute outside. He went in, and I saw Cynnomin & Heidi. Hugged Cynn & she introduced me to Heidi, whom I recognised from MySpace. We talked for a while & then went in. I was soooo sad that pix weren't allowed, not even of friends because they're "guests". Still sad about that, actually.
Was hanging out with my sister when I saw someone I thought was Toni. I had seen her at the GLJ shows in 2002 but was never introduced to her by our mutual friends. I got distracted & didn't talk to her until after the show. Kim, Joel's wife, was there & we talked to her for a bit. She is so cute! She & Joel get more gorgeous every time I see them.
Jay, Joel & Tommy were still setting up when the curtain went up. There weren't exactly ready. But they put on a GREAT show anyway!
Here's the setlist, I'm pretty sure I'm leaving out a song or two...they only had 30 minutes to play, so maybe not...

When Jay switched to his [borrowed] acoustic guitar, he said that "the great thing about myspace is that people send you stuff" :p
It was so sweet when Jay dedicated Sweetest Thing to me <3 He said "I want to dedicate this song to Lani" [I smiled & my heart melted] I heard cheering behind me LOL "It's called Sweetest Thing" [my sister said "Aaawww!!" & I felt tears coming] "she runs The Real GLJ site which has many more friends than the other band calling themself Gene Loves Jezebel" Heehee!! It's true. He continued speaking but my cousin Vanessa [she looked so cute!] said "Okay, Troy should be *really* scared now!" We had talked on the phone earlier in the week & she asked if Jay was single, and I said yes. She asked "Is Troy scared?" Haha. There's a video of this show, so I'll catch what he said when I see it! Needless to say, I was exceedingly happy, touched & thankful that my teenage dreams of meeting & befriending Jay Aston & Gene Loves Jezebel came true!
After the show, I walked over to Toni & introduced myself. We talked for a few minutes. It's so nice to meet other GLJ fans :)
I can't concentrate on this anymore, so I'll write the rest later!
