Well, my day turned out to be a good one. Ending up at Sarah's watching Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and before that eating at Burger King was good.

HOWEVER

the day began somewhat crap

A few days ago I had to take a little exam called Structures and Sounds II B, being English Syntax 2. Multiple choice exam, no biggie.
Well, that's what I thought, cuz I managed to fuck it up badly (bad, cuz badly is an adverb, which would mean that the mechanism of fucking things up would be..fucked up, or something like that, I dunno, ask Robert)
Anyway, I managed to score a 4.3 which was actually a 3.3, if not for the whole point extra for assignments. Anyhoe, Riddle me this, riddle me that: 50 questions, each question worth one point, add to that 1 x the drawing of a syntactic tree, 10 points. (cause it would be ridiculous to get 10 points for just any tree.) = 60 points for the exam. Me scoring 31 of those points (I admit, I should have done better, I know, but stay with me.) In my mind, that would be just above a 5, a 5.1 maybe, but for arguments sake lets make it a 5.
A 5 would make it enough for me to pass the exam (Yes, pass it, because I managed to score a whopping 8,7 on the Phonetics 2 part, the average of the two is the grade for the course)
But no, 31 points gives me a 3.3.
Is this fair? No.
Is this the way it goes? Apparently.
Is this fair? HELL NO, why the @!*$@# is there a rule that states that 40 out of 60 gives you a 5? that's not half of the amount of points!
Granted, that's how the system works, okay, I get that.
Now let me point out the flaw to this absolutely fabulous way of grading people's exams:
For every point less that 40 you get punished even more!! (It's a curve thing, I've never been good at maths, but I get that much, I don't know, if you wanna know about math, ask Val.)
So that means, that if someone manages to get at least something right for an exam they either did not get, or did not study for, they should at least be awarded the proper amount, and not get exponential damage (yes, playing Neverwinter Nights too much: Intelligence -10, Nerves +20, Confidence -300).

It confuses me, why is it so difficult to come up with a normal rule stating that if you get half of the questions right, you get half of the total grade, it's not that hard! Even Marlowe could figure that one out...

Oh well, on a happier note I had a big f-ing burger at Burger King. It was XXL, which in itself is pretty cool, but when you hear you can make your menu LARGE, the fun really starts, and the Christmas turkey-style stuffing of Alain starts.

But to make sure that my fat-intake is enough to keep me from fainting, I grabbed a bag of crisps and started stuffing the Turkey for Thanksgiving as well
