well got back from a nice 'getaway' weekend.
i hadnt planned on doing much up there which is why i debated staying and fixing the mustang...good choice i left considering those parts STILL never came.
got up to bwi on friday night and went to brotehrs and his gf's apt in bethesda; nice area. then went out to dinner at a chain fine dining steakhouse. really weird. Ruth's Chris Steak it was...lots around the US.
wasnt bad, but if one is going to spend $200+ for 5 people who were ALL SHARING main courses (a $75 porterhouse for two, ny strip, 2 salads, stuffed mushroom appetizer, crab coctail, french onion soup, steak fries, mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach, why in the hell would you go to a chain retaurant where it's really not spectacular when you can go to a REAL non-chain place for the same price???
well then saturday morning didnt exist -- got up and moving around 12ish which basically involved my brotehr and i toruing the bethesday main area. just a bunch of yuppie-ish stores and non-chain restaurants. ok, but not a lot else to do.
then later my bro, his gf and i drove crosee district AND state to fairfax (va) to purchase a new mattress for the futon i was sleeping on (nice mattress).
by that time (which was 6ish) it was time to go for dinner to where my parents were staying (some bed and breakfast in fairfax) and have a very nice, very expensive meal.
then driving back was going through georgetown -- very nice place for college students; looked like there was so much to do.
didnt do anything that night, but then sunday was slightly more happening.
got up at 10 and met parents at the holocaust museum in dc. thats the second time ive been there and still havent seen the main exhibit; dont know why really...guess just dont have the energy to do so. i did see other exhibits though.
maybe its because i dont like museums. hmm...
well there were a bunch of tour groups (various school and older teens groups) which ill get back to...
after the holocaust museum (which has a gift shop. what the fuck??? what are they going to sell, books on how to start your own master race???), it was down to teh ww2 memorial.
it was actually nice, just too many people. and of course the american infidels (the idiots) were there in full force, playing in the fountain as if it was a fucking pool. like not just little kids, but teens and even a couple of older parents.
anyway, going back to the tour groups, there were a lot of good looking females. i tell ya...
the dc/va/md region has some UGLY ass women, but the ones i saw today were REAL nice. obviously tourists, but still. anyway, it was a nice weekend; it really felt a lot longer than less than a couple days, but it was nice.
off to bed now so i can get up and not take notes in my geo class =( ...
