And They Say Homeschoolers Don't Actually Do Work...

Well that my friends is completely untrue!We do less work sometimes but not all the time.I mean today,regular school is out because of the hurricane (that mind you isn't even going to be near here until Sunday or even Monday if it goes any slower than it is now)But anyways... what do I have to do to get the day off? Extra day of school! suxorz!So yesterday I had two Language Arts classes to do,and I really hate that class because I really hate writing reports, and summaries, and paragraphs,and really anything that has to do with that.But since I'm in high school now there are mandatory papers I have to write and send in.So for the homework of these two lessons I had two paragraphs to write.One had to be an incident and start with the topic sentence "We become happy when we give ourselves in service of others." this wasn't one I HAD to do,but I actually had a story for that.So I write it (on Thursday) and when I wake up in the morning my mom gives it to me with just about every sentence with red marks all over it!It sucked horribly!So I had to rewrite it.And it's not one of those 3 to 5 sentence paragraphs,because when I actually write something I want it to be really good so my paragraphs end up being a full page long (front and back)but I fixed it and was happy with what I did,but it took forever.Then later today my mom tells me the paragraph I was assigned for todays lesson was one I had to send in.And I was ticked because it was a comparison and contrast one,and I had pretty crappy subjects to choose from.But I choose a comparison between two sports of my choice.It ended up being about football and soccer,because I actually came up with a good topic sentence for it "Football and fu'tball are they as similar as they sound?" I thank the British for the inspiration!So I did my brainstorming,I did a sucky draft of non stop writing,then I went over that and took out all the crap and came up with my rough draft,and my mom actually liked it except for one part,which I didn't completely think through.But it took me like almost two hours to do it,and thats the most time I've ever spent writing a freakin' paragraph!But I was proud of my writing tonight!In other news the hurricane has completely ruined my weekend.Especially Friday I had many things planned yet they ALL got canceled by a hurricane that is like 300 miles away from here and moving at 6mph!So to pass the day I went for a bike ride,and ran a few errands with my mom and sister.First we went to Blockbuster to get my dad a movie,then we went to Publix to get bread and I saw Mark there,and as we were leaving I saw James from the swim team... speaking of swim team this hurricane has completely screwed that up to.Monday through Wednesday no practices because of lightning (from unrelated storms) but of course it never rained here,then because of the hurricane Thursdays practice was canceled,and of course that was the day there was not a storm cloud in the sky!Perfectly clear day to go swimming,then of course since there was no school Friday no practice.And our first meet is (hopefully) Tuesday!And who knows how we are going to do since we haven't practiced all week,and most likely because of a certain hurricane and holiday no practice Monday.So I just wish the hurricane would hurry and get out of here so life can be happy again!
