I love how it rains in Sydney. It's none of that meandering, listless, I-can't-make-up-my-mind rain. It's a steady stream- a downpour. You don't want to get stuck in it on the way home, but when you see it out your window, it's hard to stop yourself from running to dance in it. There's always a metallic sort of light in the sky too. A purple-grey shining that reflects off the windows and sheds light on weather that at home is dark and brooding. It stirs everything up and there is a strong, sweet smell of Bird of Paradise flowers and green grass with underscores of sweat and city living that remind me of home.
