So, I guess it's been awhile since we've spoken. I'm currently in Amherst, MA working at Excel. I mostly do office duties, but in the afternoons and evenings, I chill with High School students and lead them in such activities as Shirt Making, Pasta and Politics, and Improv. It's actually pretty fabulous because it's getting paid to hang out (I really enjoy the company of my co-workers!) and doing things I love. Sometimes my bosses go balistic, but it's a high-intensity job and so it seems pretty natural.

The downside to being on a campus with 9 other summer program is that there are a ton of grubby-handed little children and so I caught pink eye from one of them. Yesterday morning, to make matters worse, when I got out of the shower, one of my eyes was swollen shut and my depth perception was out of whack and so I tripped, badly spraining my ankle. I don't think I have bad karma, but I guess the universe disagrees. Anyway, I went to the pediatric center that Excel uses and got x-rayed and set up on crutches. My prescription is 2 weeks of an air cast... fabulous. So, I'm missing our excursion to Boston today because my boss said I'm a liability, which I was really looking forward to, but hopefully I'll get to go to MassMoCa tomorrow. I guess it could be worse- VT would have sucked and I possibly wouldn't have been able to be a COOT leader if it had been broken. Alas...

I've been reading a collection of Transcendental literature in order to reassess my beliefs. I'm finding it fascinating to delve deeper into what I had studied during Footsteps and further develop my beliefs. I love being a UU.

I'm also getting ready for a busy and exciting election season. There's going to be a pretty intense Governor's race in addition to an evil tax initiative. I think it's going to be a difficult campaign, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

My relationship with nap-taking has always been somewhat strained, but in the past 2 weeks, I have come to terms with the practice. I have now fully realised the joy of the late afternoon two hour nap. I highly recommend it.

So, I leave here on the 21st to go home to Brooklyn. I'll be around for exactly 2 weeks during which Johnny (from Berlin!!) is coming to visit and then Josh is coming up for a couple of days. I want to hang out and go to Celebrate Brooklyn with all of you back in the 718 as well! I'm going to hobble into town now to run some errands. I'd love to chat with you all, so give me a call.

Love!
