WOW IM LAZY ABOUT THIS!!
Hehe, anywho busy week.
School wise: Band camp all week, we've got about 50 new kids or so. I hate the weather here, sooo humid.
Will went on a cross-country to New Orleans, stayed over night. Went back to Embry Riddle in Arizona today. I miss him already. We hung out a few times, wanted to go flying with him but we couldn't find the time.
Thursday...mom showed up at the band hall. we talked. had lunch afterwards. made me feel a bit uncomfortable, was on the verge of begging me to take her down to my flying lesson sunday (bad idea, mom has a problem when being in cars and saying things), she was moving really fast, considering I hadn't seen her in 5 months. She wanted me to come over for dinner...no begged me....even offered to make me a steak, suprisingly I turned it down, and backed out of taking her to my lesson. She wants to see me once a week, not including the weekend football games.
I feel torn...she has a mental disorder and people who have this disorder also try to "suck" people back in, thats what mom is doing. Also she has a dissertation next month, so she might be trying to build a quick history. I realized I need to be real cautious with her, I need to be in charge of the situation. Anywho, this is really stressing me out. Joey + rebuilding relationship with mom must = happy joey....in reality it ='s somewhat unhappy joey.
Talked about the situation with my grandparents on friday, then with dad later that night.
I GOT A NEW CAR RADIO FRIDAY!!! OMG its awesome. I got a panasonic head unit.
Took it to Circuit City, the guy who was working on it told me the previous owner cut the radio wires when he took out the 6-disc CD changer...A-HOLE!!
Anywho I love driving with it now.
Saturday,I GOT KIDNAPPED BY MY TYG BOARD MEMBERS!!!! OMG it was so much fun. We had breakfast together then went to our rabbi's house and got stuff for our various positions (i got a folder for my SAVP position) We had a pool party with the TYG afterwards, that was fun. Had dinner with grandparents that night.
Today (sunday the 14th of august) I flew for the first time in 3 months, oh my god it felt good to get back in the saddle again....or should I say cockpit.
Flew Cessna 65498. Since this is my first flight in a long time we decided to work on my landings again. Flew over to La Porte and did 5 touch and goes on runway 23 (with a cross-wind from 160). Got some good x-wind practice, that was fun. Aborted my first two attempts, came in too high and fast. The other 5, got it on the runway, but I flared too high, need to practice that. Did a fairly good landing at Ellington. Managed to beat the rain by a few minutes. Actually, half the airport was engulfed in rain. Ellington tower had us divert from runway 17R to runway 22. Haha, while landing, you COULD NOT SEE THE TOWER!!!! It was INSANE!! SO yea...good day for flying.
