you say you're on your own for now

"Wait a minute . . . . That is not how a man in a cape sounds!"

Trickery in the streets!

So my family has returned weeks ago, and I have not written since due to the craziness of lots to do and endless hot hours to try to get it all done. Babysitting, my 5 and a half hours of art class 4 days a week, trying to get in touch with friends, organizing things for next semester, making sure to be out of doors as little as humanly possible, and visiting family. I hate this weather. Thanks for the global warming, previous generations! Thanks so much. I cannot believe that this is always how things are done. They pretend the problem doesn't exist until we are all doomed . . . . and THAT'S when they start making a fuss. We like to praise ourselves and muse that we are lovely creatures, but in the end we are the worse for our extra capabilities. I thought getting older would feel better than this. I knew that it wouldn't be wonderful, but I had thought it would be more calming than childhood. But the only difference that I feel is the slow emergence into an endless sea of disappointment.

Now, of course, I must say that it is not all bad. Cos if it was, we wouldn't know that it was -- yea? Oh! We are so CLEVER.

"I'm runin' away
the sea and the shore
some people were scared
but people don't know
I'm already lost
I'm already lost

the longer you wait
the harder you try
it's all in your age
that look in your eye
is already lost --

that's not what you are"
