My life has changed because of this movie.
I have just seen the most disturbing, fucked up, sad, gruesome, and pretty fucking amazing movie of my life. it's probably the most real thing i've ever seen or ever will see, i pray to god. it's called irreversible, its french, and unless you want to spend a good portion of your month following your viewing contemplating your existence, dont see this movie. there is a scene where a man gets his face hit with a fire extinguisher 24 times on camera until his face has been removed. there is a 15 minute graphic rape scene. when i say graphic, i mean the most disturbing piece of cinema of my life. this girl gets fucked up to the point where i was shaking. there is also the most gloriously ecstatic piece of filmmaking i've ever seen immediately following. the movie goes in reverse so after the bad, there is good. but this scene at the end of the movie is one of the happiest pieces of film i've seen. it's an amazing movie of incredible heights. you see heaven and hell on earth. it's terrifying to the extreme. i could barely handle it. i dare you to see it so we can talk about it, but i warned you. if you can't take it, do NOT see it.
