When I was little, I didn't play with very many toys. I was never really into action figures or army guys. I did have two things in large quantities: blocks and cars. I had like three canvas bags full of blocks and something like 100 of those matchbox cars. I can remember being little and playing with my brother on rainy days, and we would build these massive cities with block stores, block buildings, block houses, and cars everywhere. People would drive up and down the road in that city all day long, go shopping, go to work, live their lives. In our minds, it was a fully functioning city full of really exotic cars. I mean, there was the big purple pickup truck and the ferrari with the doors that swung up (the snotty European guy who got manicures drove that one). We never really crashed them or shot them over cliffs, like Calvin always did, we just concentrated on making this really harmonious city. Why didn't we do that more? Why did we only do that on rainy days? I don't really know, all I know is that I kinda want to build a block city with a bunch of cars again, and I think that if I asked my brother to tomorrow, he would be right there with me, driving around the snotty guy's ferrari and living it up, just like we were kids again.
