hello there...

Well, for those of you who are interested, I am still alive. I guess its time I returned to the livejournal community. Maybe its just because I have nothing else to do while I sit here at work.

Anyway...

Life is fairly normal. I am in Oberlin for the summer, working at the Circulation Desk (aka reading all day). I am the only full time Circ Desk staff, something that continues to amuse me. I work from 9:30-5:30 with a half hour lunch break, something that terrified me at first since I've never worked that much before. Its not that bad though. I sit here, flag OhioLinks, check in books, sort them, and then read. A lot. I think the reason I'm not going crazy with the general monotony is that I really do love my job. I love books, what can I say? I feel like I can actually help people and such, while also having some time to do what I want, like read or write or mess around on the internet. So work is good.
Other than work, life is also good. I'm living with 7 other people in a huge house with no air-conditioning, which sucks on days like today when the high is 90 with full humidity. But its fun. We all take turns cooking (except me. I can't cook, so I just do dishes), and then collapse around a computer for a movie. Its nice.
Other than that, I haven't been up to much. A lot of swing dancing. Two weekends ago was All Balboa Weekend, which was absolutely phenomenal. I had SUCH a good time and learned so much. Balboa has always been my favorite form of dance, and the whole weekend just reinforced that. Last weekend Chris, Bryne and I went to Toledo/Ann Arbor, Bryne for the Ann Arbor exchange and Chris and I to visit with his family. We did go to the Saturday night dance, which was held in a ladder ware house and was really fun, except for all the dust that was flying everywhere. SO lots of dancing.
I guess that's about it! I'll try and get back into the habit of posting, especially since I'll be traveling a lot soon and want to keep people updated on what I'm up to.

~ciao
