I GOT THE JOB!!!
I kept quiet cause I didn't want to get my hopes up. But I went for an interview last Thursday. For something way out in left field for me. But I figured why not at least try. There were four of us, and I got it.
It's for RSM Richter, a huge financial auditing company. I'll be part of the audit teams, sending out letters, putting packages together, typing up financial statements, preparing presentations etc, etc, etc... FINALLY, some variety in my work, and none of it client services oriented.
I'll be making at least $6k more a year, I get one less week of vacation, which sucks, but apparently in the Summer time they give you the option of either leaving early every Friday or taking every other Friday off, it works.
They have a well being plan (I want to take a dance class? Yoga? Tennis?, they'll pay 55% of the fee up to $200 a year) and during busy tax season they get massage therapists to come in the office and they get lunches cattered.
There are 380 employees, I've never worked for such a big company. I'm scared of this job, but I wanted a challenge and I think I got it.
Anyway, by the end of the first interview they asked me when I could come back for a second interview. So the very next day I went and met some of the bosses and voila! Found out last night the job was mine.
I start January 3rd... so I'll hand in my letter of resignation next Monday... which means I will have been an employee here as at December 31st... which then means I should still be eligible to get my yearly bonus... he he he

My brother has a girlfriend... which makes me happy. Dad's business is slowly picking up, which means 2007 is looking up... and mom, well, she was suppose to have treatments until February, and actually, one on December 22nd. Turns out they moved it to December 15th... and it'll be her last one. As much as 2006 sucked big time for my family, 2007 is looking good already.
Oh ya, and I chopped off all my hair last Saturday... he he he
