Bento Contest - Entry #4

Entry #4 is from Donna

My favorite bento technique is animal shaped ongiri. Seeing the smiles on my childrens faces when their favorite animal is cozy inside their lunch is priceless.
Bento contains:
 Strawberries,
Carrot flowers -cut with tiny cookie cutters,
Ham flowers -(starting at one end fold the meat slice in quarters and continue folding.  Make slices half way into the center of the fold and roll to make flower.  Secure with spaghetti.
Green leafy lettuce for backdrop.
Cow ongiri -is white rice filled with squash and zucchini sauteed in EVOO with garlic and onion.  Spots are made of nori,  Face and tail are made of white cheese, snout is made from a slice of hot dog.
Boiled egg rooster- has carrot beak and fan.
Bull- is Brown rice with cumin and curry and a tiny bit of tomato sauce added while rice is cooking.  Filling for the bull is lentils stewed with curry powder and cumin powder to taste.  Horns made of cheese, snout made of hot dog with nori eyes and nostrils.

Thanks for your entry Donna, This is super cute!
