Thrift Stores Rule!

So I have to go to NY the first full week of Feb on business, and I learned when getting ready for my trip last week to SA that my suits and blazers and stuff were all too big (I don't wear them all that much except when I travel to corporate stuff, the dress code is much more relaxed here in ABQ). Now, as far as problems go, that's one I don't mind having, but with registering for PR this weekend, that $150 speeding ticket from that stupid traffic light camera last week, and my gym membership about to come due (I pay the full year in advance so I HAVE to go and ends up cheaper than monthly)... I hate to go spend more good money on clothes that hopefully will be too big in a month or two, especially since I don't wear them except when I have to. On top of that I have decided that I am not really a "suit person". I just don't like them. I feel opressed in them or something, I don't really know what it is about them.

Whew! long intro. So while I was out for a lunch mtg today I stopped on the way back at Goodwill. I got two nice 100% wool blzers, one that even is a houndstooth multi (sag harbor) that included my favorite plum color, and the other was a deep deep red wool (Pendleton). I also found a deep plum fully lined basic shell dress (you heard me, dress) that actually matched the plum in the houndstooth blazer, but they weren't made to go together or anything. And either blazer would looke good with jeans too... And it's all just a teency bit on the snug side so they should fit perfect by the beginning of Feb. The whole thing came to $15 and some change. I mean you can't beat that. Really. Pendleton for crying out loud. I just love thrift stores. They totally rock!
