Mmm, edible instruments

It's a Carlo Robelli made out of brazilwood - therefore one of the cheaper bows. Surprisingly, though, it held its own against pernambuco bows that were four times its price. o_O

I auditioned all of the bows in the store and came out with this one. It just played the best for me xD The stick is pretty stiff compared to my ultra-flexible Holtz bow, so fast passages come out with a lot more clarity, but long notes sound...not quite as smooth, I guess? I dunno. It's a little harder to sound mournful and sad now. Everyone marvels at the frog xD It looks just like white chocolate, doesn't it? (Bow frogs are usually black)

Naquiqui said she's gonna eat it when I'm not looking. That...would be a problem D:

Now I just wonder what I'm going to name it~

Anyway, Conductor Pierson gave me the original part for Telemann's Concerto for Four Violins and told me we're going to play it that way - not the arrangement. Turns out that the guy who wrote the arrangement cut important lines, threw in extra measures, and did not know what notes his chords consisted of. He changed notes apparently at random and took us out of unison where we were supposed to have unison xDD He messed up bowings, made the entire piece harder than it had to be, etc.

The concert's in barely over two weeks and I have to learn a different part. Not only that, these whacked-out bowings are practically imprinted on my brain.

THIS is why I hate last-minute changes.

rl, music, musicopia 09, wtf, what is this happiness you speak of
