New year's eve '03!

Jan 01, 2004 13:22

New Years Eve '03 began for me around 8:30 in the morning when my mom yelled at me to go to the doctor. Now going to the doctor is nothing all that special or fun but I figured I should mention it because I find it funny. My doctor gave me like sixty-two medicines.
Then my mom got the idea for us to go to Coney Island... and seeing that it was Coney Island or homemade pizza, I went a long.

And thank god I did! Because the waitress tipped us off to the first event of the night... live music and fireworks in mt. Clemens...and since I spent a good part of '03 in mt. clemens, and since I wanted some tea like whoa I decided it was a good idea to go there. Imagine Mt. Clemens on a regular night with about 897584375 more people there, a good deal of reefer, and bagpipers from Scotland. OH and the disco. "YMCA YMCA" being screamed by 2000 drunks of all ages. *shudder* I met a boy just before midnight at the "Art in Public places" who was nice but mildly bizarre who played guitar and made fun of the bagpipers and the drunks with me. Then it was over to the clock tower that struck midnight a minute too soon. (it was rather anti-climatic) The fireworks would have been okay except it was all America'd-up. it was mostly red white and blue. There was all these old people yelling "yeah america!" but the fireworks were PURPLE!!!! "yeah! oh yeahhhhhhhhh! ...okay dude lets go."
My only regret is that i didn't meet itchy-boy... unless the "bassists" was itchy boy...but I don't think so...

Then the second part of the night was spent at Ang's...or going to Ang's. Eddie and I got lost a lot. I have still not figured out why there is no sign for 22 mile!! Damn you people and your porn party, we should have watched fireworks. you can watch porn every day!! No but we got lost... a lot... there were streets with no signs or lights and no way to turn around, and dead ends and... um... cops whom we though about asking for directions. like Em said, thank god for cell phones! We're just lucky that Ang put signs out for us "selfridge ang" or we may never have found our way there. We did meet an angel though. a nice nice "older" man working under the guise of a milk stamper. He was so kind to take time out of his schedule and tell us where .... well actually he didn't tell us anything, but he was an angel nonetheless. My only regret from this part of the night is that I still have no fricking clue how to get to Ang's. For example she lives on Jefferson AND Sugarbush. Damn that And. but at least we discovered K.A. wink wink wink.
So yeah we finally got to Ang's and that was fun. Even though my mom decided I need a curfew because I am disrespectful. Damn it. Ah well. But yeah. Happy new year everyone!
