A New Start
I haven't been around much the last 10 days or so. I've been packing and moving. I have my own place now. It's a cute little 2 bedroom apartment in a small town about 20 minutes from where I was living with my sister and her husband. Right now my furniture consists of a recliner, a small TV stand with TV, a bedroom set and a computer desk. I'm using the cat condo for my end table at the moment.
I expect to be able to get real furniture next month. I'm looking at a love seat, some bookcases, coffee table and end tables and a small kitchen table with chairs. I'm going shopping today with my sister for curtains, shower curtains and shelf paper. I hope to find a small end table to use for now instead of the cat condo.
I finally got telephone, cable and internet yesterday. Time Warner told me he would be here between 12 and 5. He got here at 6 and it took him about an hour to get everything set up. He had to drill a hole and put a new outlet in for the internet. Then he had one more stop to make before going home. Glad I don't have his job.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting everything put together and actually being able to put up altars. I have my ancestor altar all set in my mind. I have the ladder shelf for it and most of the items to put on it. I need to work on my altar for the deities, my everyday altar. I have a few ideas, but it's going to need some more thought and work. The main thing right now is getting the boxes unpacked and unearthing the living room underneath all of the boxes.
