I haven't updated a lot lately, because there's not that much going on. I am working a lot, as we're coming up on inventory, and I've been reading a lot, as I'm now a third of the way through the seventh story of the Sacrifices Arc ("I Am Also Thy Brother"). As a direct corollary, I've been reading a lot of Swinburne's poetry. "Dolores" and "Hymn to Proserpine" are especially standing out to me these days:
"I have lived long enough, having seen one thing, that love hath an end;
Goddess and maiden and queen, be near me now and befriend.
Thou art more than the day or the morrow, the seasons that laugh or that weep;
For these give joy and sorrow; but thou, Proserpina, sleep."
I'm reading some on my own and also trying to keep up with TDA, but I'm not making real progress with either of those. I'm squeezing in just enough devotion to my homework in and around other things that I'm doing very well in my online class, which ends next Monday.
I need to clean our apartment and put away my laundry. I also need to be creative some more. Both these things ... I'm just not really feelin' it. But I'm afraid that if I let myself get used to just letting stuff go, I'll become lazy and lose my drive entirely.
That's about it, these days. Teresa, Clara, and Chris stayed with me and Kev during MechaCon, and that was interesting, and MechaCon was fun. I need to buy poster frames.
