I have had a lot of things going on in my life. I grew up from the adolescent I was when I started this blog. I was merely a second year high school student then (14 yrs. old. We don't have middle school here). And now 4 years has passed and many things have changed. But one thing that hasn't changed since then, or I believe, will never change, is my best friend Joyce. We were in the same clique in elementary. Once we entered High School, we ended up in the same clique again. And right now, even in college, we still are inseparable.
I'm glad to have a friend like Joyce. We've been through a lot of things. Petty quarrels, big misunderstandings, sulks and all that crap. And even through all those challenges that were thrown in the path of our friendship, we held strong.
I believe that the best est friend you could ever find is someone whom you have grown up with, someone who you have shared all kinds of pain and happiness. That is what Joyce is to me. She has been a guiding light for me, as I believe, I have been for her.
We are of totally different backgrounds. Our dispositions, in the beginning, were incompatible. But I know that we've grown on each other. And our differences don't really weigh very heavy on our friendship. In fact, our differences are what makes our friendship interesting. For in reality, being friends with someone so much like yourself would prove to be a boring friendship. There are no thrills to that kind of friendship if you agree all the time due to being so similar. Joyce and I are different from each other to the point where we make things interesting by arguing, and sometimes agreeing to disagree. We don't have a boring friendship where we are always open to each others ideas though but we have our own biases and stick to them.
A friendship like ours is what I hope all the people in the world has found. So that you will know for yourselves the depth of understanding between two people who share such a friendship.
(This is a writing/typing exercise, where you start typing and don't stop for 5 minutes. I've learned that this exercise sometimes brings out the best essays in me. Though they still have to be edited and they don't have unity and coherence yet, Since when I started typing, I really didn't have a plan what to type about, I just let my thoughts drift to my fingers and didn't double think anything. All of you should try this exercise, you won't know what you'll write about until your done.)
