Recently I've been obsessing over a new fandom which is Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok. I've seen this anime before while I was searching for some screenshots of an RPG game (Ragnarok Online) and I encountered the anime's manga cover by chance. I skimmed its summary with the help of Mr. Wikipedia, and I thought it was sort of interesting and quite retarded and unoriginal at the same time. Yeah yeah I'm judgemental at times D< After that incident I completely ignored the anime, not even bothering to watch it. Then after a few months, a book fair was held in Mall of Asia and I dragged my mom to buy me lots of manga. As if by magic, I saw the almost complete Manga Collection of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, but apathetic and moronic me; I turned my head away from it and bought the complete Manga Collection of Absolute Boyfriend instead. -__-;; That is one of the decisions I would forever, ever, forever ever regret. Once again, I completely forgot about the anime after the book fair incident.
But yesterday, Destiny has once again brought us together. (Open Quote Aster Phoenix Close Quote) My mom and I along with my little brother were at the mall, and I was planning to buy some anime DVDs for my "Summer Anime-Watching Marathon". Originally, I planned to buy Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season 2 (Don't get me wrong; I've watched GX's Season 2 agaziliion centuries ago, but I still wanted to buy the DVD because, well, ASTER'S THERE. *shot*) and Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Yes, KHR. Surprising, isn't it? -__-;; laughingsoda kept telling me to watch it, and I can't believe all her fangirl-talks about my hatest anime actually succeeded. So I looked for those DVDs. Although honestly, I was pretty sure there won't be a DVD of GX Season 2, but there will be lots of KHR DVDs being sold. And what do you know? Both theories were correct.
I was about to buy the KHR DVD, but decided to do second rounds of DVD searching to test myself if I really want to buy KHR. Hey, I hate the anime, and hate is not an easy thing to let go. It was then that I found the DVD of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok as well as Toradora, but that's not important D< I haven't watched the anime yet. orz. And the rest are quite obvious. I had a change of heart, dropped KHR and went home carrying Toradora and M.D.L.R. title too long. DX
Anyways, enough storytelling~! On with the real thing:
M.D.L.R. has 26 episodes all in all, and so far I'm only in episode 17. ahgh sadg asytdtas ANDOMGIFELLSODEEPLYINLOVEWITHIT hduew7qe362. ♥♥♥ It's so epically amazing. I don't know if it's because I've always been fond of Mythologies, especially Norse (hooray for Ragnarok Online influence! *v*), or because Loki is so damn hot sexy. V\\*o*//V I'LL GO WITH BOTH PLZ.
PLUS, THIS ANIME HAS A LOT OF SIMILARITIES WITH DETECTIVE CONAN. ♥♥♥

Let it be resolved that Detective Conan and Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok are twin animes.
And to account for this motion, I present the following arguments and evidences:

Argument One: Conan and Loki practically look the same. Well not really. XP; But you get the point! D<
Evidence: THE TABLE ABOVE. ♥ *spazzes*
Argument Two: Conan and Loki both have adult appearance(s).
Evidence: The table again :3
Argument Three: Conan and Loki have similar history and dilemma.
Evidence: In Detective Conan, Shinichi Kudo is a High School Detective who was forced to drink a drug that shrunk him, turning him into what we know as Edogawa Conan. Apparently the people who drugged him are members of the "Black Organization", and when they found out that Shin-chan was still alive (the drug was supposed to kill him, but it shrunk him instead. What luck~), the members one by one started to hunt him down and assassinate him.
In Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, Loki (the God of Mischief and Trickery) was exiled from the World of Gods by Odin (the supreme God, the counterpart of Zeus of Greek Mythology and Ra of Egyptian Mythology). YAY MYTHOLOGIES~~!! *v*) for I-don't-know-yet-the-reason-why-I'm-only-on-episode-17 reasons, but I'm guessing Loki did something horrible to Odin (he's a mischievous trickster after all)...and...yeah if that's not too obvious. Loki was exiled to the Human World where he took form of a child, and he needs to collect agazillion evil spirits that threaten to dominate human hearts in order to go back to the World of Gods. But since Odin is so mad at Loki for I-don't-know-yet-the-reason-why-I'm-only-on-episode-17 reasons, he sent a couple of Gods and Goddesses to eliminate Loki including Heimdall, the three Goddesses of Fate, Freyr and Thor (but Thor became his very good friend along the way).
Bottom-line: Both Shinichi and Loki were turned into adorable kids and antagonists want them dead.
Argument Four: They're both 'babe' magnets.
Evidence: Conan - Mouri Ran and Haibara Ai (and other supporting fangirls) || Loki - Daidouji Mayura and Freya (and other supporting fangirls)
Argument Five: They're both detectives.
Evidence: Doi~ The titles XD
But I'd like to make a side comment on this one. Detective Conan is purely mystery that makes its audience look like dumb scums. Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok is a detective-ish story, but it's not as hardcore as D.C. I can still relate to it, and it doesn't require much thinking because it's pretty obvious. But either ways, both animes are AWESOME. AGAIN. AWWWEEESSSOOOMEEE. ♥♥♥
On Female Characters:
Enough of the boys. I'll talk about the girls. The main character for Detective Conan when it comes to female characters is Mouri Ran while it's Daidouji Mayura for M.D.L.R. Personally, I prefer Mouri Ran because she's been one of my all-time unbeatable female characters. She's a kick-ass (literally. Karate FTW~ ♥), and although she's naive when it comes to detective stuff, she has her own ways of helping.
Daidouji Mayura, on the other hand...I honestly don't know whether to hate her or not. I want to hate her because she's annoying. Not the Osakada Tomoka from Prince of Tennis type of annoying, but, like, she always shouts, "MYSTERY!" and it's just PLAIN ANNOYING. Okay, fine. Honestly I can take that. We all have random moments. But what really turned me off is that SHE ALWAYS HAS TO BE SAVED. Like, she's so much of a mystery maniac that it's what causes her stupidity to fall for the opponent's traps. And as usual it's always the main character who has to save her at the end of the day. I want to hate her because she's the Epitome of a Damsel in Distress. And I hate girls like that down to the very core of their humanity. PERIOD.
And I don't want to hate her because she's cute. OTL;; She's actually adorable when she shouts "MYSTERY!" >.> And yeah. She's just really, really cute. >__<;; Other than that, EVERYTHING ABOUT HER IS HATEABLE. *gets stabbed* Although to be fair, I did research on Mayura and apparently, her personality from the manga was a lot different than that of the anime. In the manga, she's a lot calmer and less stupid. She reminded me of Ryuzaki Sakuno.
Anyways, that's about it~ *o* Before I end this entry, I just want to advocate: WATCH MYTHICAL DETECTIVE LOKI RAGNAROK. Seriously. The fandom needs A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT OF LOVE.

It's hemuloki!! ♥ *spazzes* And~ there are over 600 stories about M.D.L.R. at FFN.net DX The one I saw with only one story was under "Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok". The thing is, there's another category for M.D.L.R. named "Matantei Loki Ragnarok" @_@;; So yeah. There were two categories for one anime >__<;; Mou~ FFN.net should fix that! D<
