The inn at Kakariko

When Jewel took up residence in the abandoned inn of Kakariko Village, she didn't anticipate getting roomies. But that's what's happened. So just to keep things straight, I've sketched out details about the place (this is my personal form of OCD) which are both graphically depicted and described thusly.

The entire decor of the inn is pretty rustic; think along the lines of the buildings in Ordon Village in Twilight Princess. Death Mountain is nearly directly behind the building; Vaati's windmill is off to the right of it. It's slightly separated from the rest of the village by a low wall. There's a fenced vegetable garden just off the kitchen, and a small fenced shelter has become home to one of the Lon Lon cows, who seems happy to have someone looking after her and in exchange provides the residents with a milk supply.

A map of Kakariko Village; the inn is the long building at the top of the picture.

The kitchen has a bunch of cupboards, a cooking fire, a large washing basin, and a big island in the middle which doubles as workspace and informal dining space. The dining table near the main entrance can seat up to ten people. The kitchen has an island counter that separates kitchen from dining area, large wood-burning stove, plenty cabinets, hanging baskets for food, and cutlery drawers. The common area has three tables with chairs and a hearth. The chimney of the hearth travels up through the bathroom upstairs, and keeps that room warm in the winter.

In the social area, there are chairs near the fireplace, and a large rug. A coatrack at the bottom of the stairs holds outerwear. There's a picture of a foresty nature sort of scene above the fireplace.

Upstairs, each bedroom has a single window and a single door. They each contain a bed, a bureau, a mirror, and a pair of oil lamps, as well as any additional contents brought in by the room's resident. The bathroom has a copper tub that can be lit from below to heat the bathwater (water needs to be hauled in) and flushable latrine (again, water needs to be hauled in) with outlet to an underground collection bin (there's crates atop the trapdoor outside leading to it). There's one barrel with a tap in the bathroom, next to the small washbasin on a stand, and a bucket and glazed ceramic cup, for water collection and transferal. A narrow hallway closet beside the bathroom holds towels on a high rack, and a wooden bucket with a scouring pad, mop, feather-duster, cleaning rags, scouring pads, and wide short-bristle broom on the floor.
