07.03 "The Girl Next Door"

Late I know.

I know some people had issues with this episode but I rather enjoyed it. I liked how the first three episodes all picked up where the last one left off. It made for some nice flow and I liked the tone of all three.

I was happy to see Colin Ford back in the role of Sam and felt he did a great job, as usual. And while I wasn't necessarily thrilled to have to watch a monster of the week episode, I liked how they went about it. The first ten minutes or so dealt with the Leviathans and then it merged into the monster of the week element and I liked the mix.

My only major issue with the episode was the ending. I didn't like Dean going back and killing Amy. And having her son watch him and the exchange that followed seemed both out of left field and incredibly awkward. I wish they hadn't gone that route.

I did love Dean watching Telenovelas though with Bobby and the rest of the stuff that was going down while they were hiding out at the cabin. Also, I had hoped to see more of Dean in a cast. I know it would have severely limited what Dean could do and that's why they got rid of it so quickly, but I had hoped they would have milked it a bit more.

So yeah, still a good episode although not as strong as the first two were. Thoughts? Opinions?
