I caught a bit of 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' earlier today. They held the Montreal auditions which always fills me with pride, even though I pretty much hate the province of Quebec, lol.
I'm hopeful the show will be as awesome as it was last year if not better. I remember last year thinking the show would suck and I was so shocked not only to discover that Canada can in fact dance, but they can dance really fuckin' well.
It still makes me happy hearing Mary Murphy saying how awesome we were and being in awe of the talent. She kept asking if she was being punked, lol.
Mia Michaels was one of the judges tonight and she was in awe with one particular dancer and went on to say he was the best she'd seen on the show, and that included the US version.
The only thing I miss about the Canadian show is the lack of Cat, who I think is just a delight. And I miss having the American judges on the show, even though they do guest star from time to time.
And for those who haven't seen the Canadian version, I leave you with the Paso Doble performed last year by Natalli and Francis, and choreographed by Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin. It's just awesome, every Paso Doble I've seen performed since has been lacking in my opinion.
