Jamie is definately a prick. And no one EVER has ANY excuse WHATSOEVER to cheat on someone. ever. end of story. if the relationship was dying, he should have ended it instead of cheating on cathy. sure, they were both hurt, but it would have made it easier knowing that he was loyal throughout and it just died. cathy definately got 100% more controlling by the end of the relationship, because she knew that he was drifting away because all of the fame put him in that position: "and i have to say what exaserbates the problem is i'm at these parties, im at the center of attention, im the grand fromage...[etc]". it becomes a domino effect, cathy getting more attatched, sort of going back to a childhood comfort of having something and not wanting to let go, its not like she has much of a family at home either. she doesn't want anything to do with her home, and puts it away in the back corner of the closet, never to look back until something devistating happens, like falling out of love. all the while jamie keeps trying to push her away, because he needs some space. who can blame him there? this making cathy afraid that that little space he longs for is another woman. you can't blame cathy for wanting to be close to the one she loves... or loved. but on some levels you can't blame jamie for wanting someone who didn't want to be part of every aspect of his life. jamie is a writer, all writers need space. and he just wanted support from her, but she was to wrapped up in her own problems that a little issue becomes a big one because everything was being held inside. if you are going to "damn jamie" you might as well damn cathy as well, because they both ruined their lives, together. it was a team effort here. so damn both of them, just like how their relationship was damned from the begining.

im just restating what you already know.

and the quote from Nobody Needs to Know is so increadibly human, it makes anyone hurt, just knowing that this is probably happening, this probably has happend. haven't you just been wandering the hallways and heard some person going "god, i need a girlfriend/boyfriend." people need to be wanted. and when they get the feeling that the one they want, doesn't want anything to do with them, that is a tragedy. there are so many people who just don't want to be alone.

look at me.

the worst was this note i found on the ground one day...

it was two girls talking about how much they wanted to have sex, but they needed a boyfriend first, and such'm.

that's kinda funny in a sad way.
