Yesterday was fabulous ...

Yesterday I got home from my music theory test at about 10, got some stuff done real fast, and then met Linda and her friend from Germany at Penn Station. Linda is my mom's super fabulous cousin who lives in Germany where she teaches music. I took them to Soho, where we wandered around and they did a good deal of shopping, headed down Canal Street until we hit Broadway, went south on Broadway, wandered around aimlessly in the Financial District, headed down Fulton and ate lunch at a restaurant on the pier overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. Linda and I did lots of catching up, and I gave her some stuff of my grandma's that Mom and I had decided she should have. It was a really nice visit.

I got home, and Linh, Ariella and I decided to go to the Target in Brooklyn to buy some new silverware. (One of our fabulous suitemates will be leaving ... and aside from us being extremely sad that she's going, we have to replace some stuff around the apartment. It will sadly be impossible to replace her.) Anyway, we went to Target, entered intending to buy nothing but utensils, and left with a cart full of stuff. Stick with me, here. We have fabulously fun Halloween costumes. I'm going to be Lady Macbeth. I have the dress. Now I just need to get a fake dagger and some fake blood and I'll be good to go. Granted, I don't expect anyone to get the reference, but I don't care. I'm completely looking forward to being in the big Halloween parade on Monday. Mmmm.

Oh yeah, I had a horribly pathetic moment where I called my father at his office simply to tell him that I'm going to be Lady Macbeth for Halloween. Ridiculous? Yes, completely. Especially since I almost never call him, let alone at work. Regardless, he was suitably pleased given that he always talks about how he loved my performance as Lady Macbeth, blah blah blah. Anyhow, it was nice to catch up with him a bit.

I love my life here. Especially when people from home

come to visit.
