Yesterday, Nicole Richie went into labor, and Joel took her to the hospital, where a couple hours later they had a healthy baby girl, weighing in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces. Her name is Harlow Winter Kate Madden. I hope she's pretty. It's not too bad a name, but I think it oculd have done without the 'Kate' part in there. It's just so long and drawn out, and as someone that has two middle names myself, I know it's no picnic. No pictures yet of the new happy family.
I felt bad for Nicole most of her pregnancy. I couldn't believe it at first, as she was so incredibly skinny I didn't think it was possible for her to be pregnant. And it was just tabloid speculation at first, and it didn't look very convincing. The Enquirer has never been a reliable source anyway. And she looked like a bag of bones in the picture they used.
But when she confirmed it in several other magazines, I believed her. But even with all the baby bump pictures, people didn't believe her. They said it was simply an excuse to gain weight after giving up coke, that she was stuffing, and would have a 'miscarriage' suddenly. I just thought that those rumors were harsh. No one believed her until the swimsuit candids.
Because let's face it, with Nicole's obvious skinny obsession, she would not go out in public with that belly unless she was really pregnant. I don't know, I thought her baby bump was cute. I think she'll be a good mom though, but I 'll bet she's skinny again by the end of the month.
