It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Dec 28, 2007 21:41

I'm at my dad's house this week for second Christmas. That means I'm on his awesome 26.4 kbps internet. Look at your connection settings and feel very sorry for me. I deserve it. But I thought now that I've had both Christmases, it was time for my overview.

Disappointment: didn't get any Lost dvds. I guess that leaves me to continuously check them out from the library, meaning my name will always be on a waiting list.

Excitement: I got a portable dvd player. My Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert cd/dvds plays all the videos out of sync, which is depressing, but so far, everything else has been working.

My first Christmas was at my mom's, where I normally live. I was up at 3 that morning because I really couldn't sleep. It started off pretty sucky, I'll say that. I decided to make bread around 5am, so it would be ready when everyone woke up and we could all have nice war, homemade bread for breakfast. Well, that randomly didn't mix right and didn't rise, so I was depressed about that.

I don't remember what upset me around present time at about 10, but I was quietly crying under my blankets while my little brother passed out presents. I cheered up though around the time my stepdad opened the 3 Musketeers bar I got him in addition to the movie.

I got a "Seacrets of the Dead Sea" nail care kit, so my nails are shiny as heck and I love it. I got 4 cds, including the newest Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and Gary Allan, plus the live Josh Turner cd.  I also got John Tucker Must Die, because Sophia basically rocks. I got a kitten Chia Pet, which came with a little mini teddy bear Chia Pet. I remember how much I wanted one of those when I was little. And my gift from Santa was Instant Star season 1. I was all sorts of fangirl for that. I stayed up late to watch the whole season in a go. Loved the Sammy deleted scene. So cute. I'd post a cap from it, but, well, I'll point you back to my connection speed.

Around 11 it started to rain, and around noon, it turned to snow. Me, my mom, and my little brother were so excited for a white Christmas. My stepdad was less excited, because he had to go pick up my uncle, and my brother couldn't care less. My mom and I bundled up all warm and cozy and went for a walk. I caught so many snowflakes on my tongue. It was a fun game. Eventually, I even got my mom to join in.

I told my parents about the bread, and they said it was the thought that counted, and said I could try again to have with dinner. So I did and it turned out well. My Christmas really had it's ups and downs, but I can't remember them all. I was just irritated or upset half the time.

Yesterday, I was woken up around 1 because it was snowing, and I still had to make my bed and pack. And I needed to leave before I couldn't leave. So I finally brought my brother back over to my dad's house, and didn't find a slippy patch until I was coming down his evil driveway, though I drove slow as hell because it was coming down so fast. So I got two white Christmases.

I got my awesome portable dvd player, The Last Kiss (RACEL!), The Hitcher (MORE SOPHIA!), Craig Morgan's newest cd, Joe Nichol's III, and toe socks, which is pretty much a tradition around here. Then, we lost power, so we went to the airport to eat, and I have no idea how my stepmom drove so fast. I was paranoid the whole time, but there was only once I thought we were slipping.

I miss my kitty though. When I left yesterday, she was looking all cute meowing to go out it the snow, so it was hard to leave her. Now I won't see her until Tuesday. And I seem to have caught a cold. I do love my dvd player though, so I can finally watch dvds while being on the computer, and when I get back to my mom's I can watch R rated movies, which she won't let me watch.

rascal flatts, instant star, brad paisley, the hitcher, rachel bilson, sophia bush, craig morgan, joe nichols, snow, gary allan, the last kiss, john tucker must die, presents, josh turner, christmas
