The Chynn is Still a Dick
I know I said I was tired in my last post but I wanted to post this one last thing before I turned in, and that was to say that yes, people.
King Chynn, aka Varian Wrynn, is still a dick.
This is evident by this Cataclysm screenshot, an image of the courtyard in Stormwind Keep.
Here we see a statue of Chynn holding a sword in the middle of a fountain, looking all noble and trying to deny the savage side that he earned being a gladiator. That's not the point though. The point is how totally self absorbed this guy is to put a statue of himself up in his castle!
Ummm....hello!?!? Where's the statue of Bolvar Fordragon, Chynn? The poor guy's sitting on top of Icecrown now, undertaking perhaps the crappiest jobs in existance by babysitting the Scourge. Even if he is 'Immolation Man' now, I can't help but think he's already frozen his nuts off in that ice block. :(
I know that Chynn and everyone else except the heroes who faced him and Tirion Fordring lorewise don't really know what happened to Bolvar in the end. Everyone else just believes him to have died. Does that change this one ioda? No, it doesn't! Bolvar, even if he had merely died in ICC or even at the Wrathgate, is still a hero of the Alliance that deserves more recognition than Captain Scarface Leno. I can't see this as anything less than a sign of self-indulgence on Varian's part, but maybe I'm wrong on that.
Are they at least going to put Bolvar's shield on display in the place where they honor their heroes? I hope so. :-/
Jet Zeppelin: Well...if it makes you feel any better, I do have plans to torch the place and see how much arcane fire the king's statue can withstand before it melts.
Nah, save it for the king himself. Not much a statue can do except sit there and look stupid, and we can always paint mustaches and black eye rings on it.
Jet Zeppelin: I like the way you think! But the statue is still going down because I also plan to burn down the entire city.
