Just in case anyone still reads this thing.

Some of you may already know this, others do not. On September 11, 2010 my mother died from what was likely a Pulmonary Embolism brought on by one of several cancers afflicting her.

This has been a series of what I'd call -- because I can't come up with a more elegant or hateful term -- pissers. She went to her first doctor's appointment on my birthday, August 6th. By the 12th she found out that the lump in her hip was bone cancer. Near the end of august she got a full body CAT scan and they found cancer in her lungs, brain and liver to go along with the present in her hip. They tried chemo, but she seemed to get weak very quickly. She went to stay with her Oncologist (a friend of the family) for a little bit, as they had someone who could help look after her 24/7 (they keep a nanny for their kids).

I made it to Dallas to try to help out, get her to eat, things like that. That was the evening of September 10th. The next morning, her doctor woke me up and let me know that she'd died during the night. Her best guess was a blood clot (the aforementioned Pulmonary Embolism), especially since it doesn't seem that mom even noticed, as she didn't seem to have even woken up, thank god... We won't ever likely know for sure, we didn't bother with an autopsy, and she wanted her body donated to a university for teaching purposes. She apparently wasn't GOOD enough for UT, but Parker College (a chiropractic school) wasn't so goddamn picky. They said we'd have her ashes back within a year or two, depending...

So yeah, this is kind of a shitty couple of months for me. To anyone who was around 2k5, or knows someone who was, back in 2000-2002 or so... Yeah, this is the same lady who -- speaking through me -- made Axiom/Octane look like the little bitch he was on O-Decepticon.

Son of a bitch... I miss my mom...

Wake me up with September ends, huh?

P.S. - If anyone is interested and will be in the DFW area on September 26th, my mom's students will be putting on a show in her honor at the Dallas Galleria at 6:15 p.m.

She'd been teaching Ice Skaters for something like 15 years... I'm not real up to remembering the exact timetable, but yeah. There's that.
