so i like to try out new sports all the time. once the basics sailing, canoeing, horseback riding...got old, i switched and became stuck on two particular extreme activities...
rock climbing (harness)
amazing,a real thrill...helps you trust others, in a nutshell...freakin awesome.
bouldering(sans harness)
this is all about you and the rock. you dont go as high, but there are some fantastic promlems and
self-confidence builders that go on during a bouldering session.
so..as much as i love these activities, they are extreme. and even the most expirienced climbers get bit by the*not-so-safety-bug*....long story short...i was bouldering, fell and broke my leg and my ankle.
benefits:
*i get hot rock climbers asking me if im the girl who whipped out at the rock gym..then i get them to buy me a smoothie (works in myhead..now i have to just use it in practice)
*frozen burritos...lots of protein..also means i dont have to hobble in the snow to the union
*killer bruising, if i get enough requests..ill post pictures
*i got a walking boot..so soon ill be off crutches
*vicodin...need i say more?
disadvantages:
*although my campus is small, it gets a whole lot bigger when you are walking with crutches
*i feel like i should be called tron..i have a huge black strappy boot on my leg...im amazing
so, in 8 weeks, ill be healed.though i wont be climbing yet because rock shoes run small for assistance on small holds...so where i normally wear a size 9 1/2...my mythos are a 7 1/2...so NO swelling at all, otherwise i could seriously mess myself up again!
happy hopping!
