Acquisitions

The last of our little flurry of capital outlay was in the form of a pair of go anywhere, do anything shoes and a great way to meet doctors. This should be interesting. This means that Audrey and I are both equipped for the winter sports that we are most interested in, and both have about equally badass gear (extremely badass for one set, novice-friendly badass for the other). I'm predicting an interesting rest of the winter- with some weekends full of snowshoeing and photography, and some full of snowboarding and bruises. And, of course, I'm doing some research into who has airplanes to rent so that should start taking up some time as well. The predictions that this move would be a big adventure were entirely accurate.

We've done enough exploring to know where stuff is and who has the best coffee (it's Mad Mike's by the way), but now we have to start thinking more seriously about our exploring. We have:
  1. Gone to Schweitzer Mountain and taken up winter sports.
  2. Found our hangouts and gotten appropriately snooty about local businesses.
  3. Gone to Coeur D'Alene and found some more good shops and things.

We still need to:
  1. Find out what else there is in Coeur D'Alene (eg, hiking and biking in the summer).
  2. Get further into the Nordic trails on Schweitzer on snowshoes.
  3. See Priest Lake.
  4. Find out more about trails in the Selkirk, Cabinet, and Bitterroot mountains.
  5. Drive up to Bonner's Ferry and see what's going on.
  6. Go to Canada and take up curling, like everyone else try to find Moraine Lake again.
  7. Make a trip out to Seattle, and perhaps try to hike around on Mt. Rainier.
  8. Visit Portland and Aurora, Oregon. One for the music scene, and one to see Van's Aircraft in preparation to build my RV-8.

So now the question is not "am I forgetting something," but "what am I leaving out?"
