Describe your character's strengths (both magically and personality-wise. Please note that Animagi and Metamorphmagi, etc. are extremely rare and you MUST have Mod Permission.): Jethro's greatest strength is his ability to tell a story. He is gifted with both an active imagination and a narrative spirit. His best classes are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Care of Magical Creatures. He thinks that these are the most exciting classes. He also does pretty well in Muggle Studies, but that's probably because he's a Muggleborn.
Describe your character's flaws/weaknesses: Jethro is easily excitable and can be downright annoying. He wants to be popular, but he just doesn't 'get it.' As for magical weaknesses, he does poorly in History of Magic, Potions, and he's not that great at Astronomy either. If he went to a Muggle school, he'd likely have been diagnosed with A.D.D.

Is your character Muggle born, a half-blood, or a pureblood? Explain it. Jethro is Muggleborn. There are no other members of his immediate family who are Witches or Wizards. It's possible that there are some in his extended family, but no one close to him.
Character Background/History: Jethro grew up in Leicester, England. His mother works the cash register at a grocery store, and his father is a plumber. He has an older sister, Martha Athaliah, aged 20, who is in school to be an accountant. Before getting his letter from Hogwarts, Jethro attended Muggle Primary school. He was always the kid who got picked on by his peers. When he used to claim that he had magical powers, it only made him a bigger target. So, when he got his acceptance to Hogwarts, he was ecstatic that someone finally believed him. His family wasn't entirely sure how to handle the situation at first. Jethro's mother goes to church every week, and didn't know how to resolve the idea of Witchcraft with her Christianity. However, after being assured that the students were not worshipping Pagan gods or any other such thing, she finally eased up a little.
Jethro was not really prepared for what he found in the Wizarding world, though. He was expecting it to be constant fun and adventures, but was disappointed to find out that he couldn't just *do* magic, and would actually have to study. Also, while he'd known classism as a kid, the dynamics of blood-line were completely foreign to him.

Jethro walked into the Great Hall and started walking toward the Hufflepuff table. About halfway there, though, he noticed a familiar blonde figure sitting at the Slytherin table. He always stared at her during History of Magic class. Anything would have been more interesting than those lectures, but this girl in particular seemed to draw his attention. Now, she was in the Great Hall, sitting alone at lunch, and he figured this was his chance. It had just been announced the day before that the upcoming weekend would be the first Hogsmeade weekend of the term--and as he was a third year now, he'd be able to go. He walked right up to the girl, still not fully understanding blood politics, and assuming what he thought was an air of coolness, spoke.
"Hey there, Aislin. This weekend is going to be our first Hogsmeade, and I was thinking that you and I could go together..." but he broke off when he was greeted with a venomous look. It would have been impossible for him to misinterpret that particular signal. Jethro never even heard what exactly the Slytherin said in reply, as he was already walking back to the Hyufflepuff table as quickly as possible.
