Okay, it's been over a year. I've no excuse, although I have been reading and commenting on your journals in lieu of actual posts.
In a quick year in review, here are the salient points:
- My last post mentioned getting hired by Parks Canada as a student cartograper. Best summer job I ever had, and it paid twice as much as any other job I've worked.
- My last year of school was quite busy, making all sorts of maps ranging from topographical maps to nautical charts to 3D models of 19th century British forts. The year also went very well too.
- I am now an officially certified cartographer.
- I am also looking for work. There's plenty of jobs for my skill set, and right now I'm applying to jobs all over Canada. In a few years, I want to work internationally. I just had an interview for a company in Fort St John, BC.
- I'm moving at the end of the month. To where, I have no idea, but that's a good thing, because where ever it is, I'll be finally earning decent money for doing something I like.
- My life finally feels like it's under my control and going where I want it to go.
So I plan to write some more stuff for Livejournal in the next few days, and keep writing things on a regular basis. I really want to get back to writing fiction, which is something I've put on hold for the past two years to go back to school.
That's about it for now. I'll post some maps I made later.
