In other news, I just rocked out 2 extra long practice sessions today, and am feeling waaaay too mellow and cozy to leave the house. You all should call me on my new phone!!! I'm not really a "phone person" so I have no idea what I'll talk about, but after 10 days of no phone, I need to get my phone ya-ya's out. Just humor me and listen to me read aloud, recite the alphabet, or sing any pre-No Scrubs TLC song on cue.
Oh yeah, I don't think I ever told the story of how I lost my phone in the first place. I was walking down 8th Ave from my school to the post office and who do I see? Christopher Meloni, or to those not in the know, the incredibly sexy Detective Stabler on Law and Order SVU. He looks exactly the same in person. Yowza! Because I'm kinda creepy, I thought about following him, but just imagined Stabler characteristically flying off the handle and delivering a US Marine-Core headbutt as soon as he discovers that I'm trailing him, so I thought better of it. I called my brother instead, since he too is all about the Elliot, and unfortunately, he didn't pick up. I got to the post office, went to check the time, and discovered that I was too giddy and starstruck to place my phone securely in my pocket, marking the first time in my entire life that I've ever lost a cell phone.
Part of me kinda likes starting a new phone with a clean slate. The phone book gets to be a social graveyard after a while... And my tendency to save text messages from stupid boys YEARS after the fact as some sort of sad testament to me being wanted at some point had to come to an end. Whoa, that was a depressing sentence. But hey, thats what having the new phone is all about. A new year, a fresh start, and a phone that doesn't burn my face when I'm on it for more than 15 minutes. Now that is something worth celebrating.
