Weather proofing

I gotta laugh at Obama whenever someone confronts him about the whole employment or environment situation and he dusts off the ol' "JOBS IN WEATHER-PROOFING! We'll make jobs in home insulation installation. Done, and done!" Has any of this even happened? Is there a single Obama-trained weather-proofer out there reaping the benefits of this apparently ever-expanding market? Even if he did parade out his own blue collar composite "Joe the Weatherproofer" we'd still be going to hell in a handbasket on both fronts, but it'd be nice to see him try to even create the illusion of follow-through on this.

It kinda reminds me of when I was working for that boutique that folded, and as we were in the red for like... months with no end in sight, the owner of the company came in and told us all that we'd be closing 2 hours early, we could only run the heat for an hour, and we can only turn on one bank of lights. Cuz, yeah, that'll save this sinking ship. Although it was funny seeing the 2-3 customers we'd have per day come in, say "are you open? You closed at like.. 3 pm yesterday and the lights are off so I wasn't sure. And good god, why is it so cold? I'm leaving.".. but I digress.

What am I getting at with tonight's seemingly aimless rant? Well, I'm really cold and could use some weatherproofing. Roommate's room is baking, mine is freezing, and I think improper insulation is the issue. Should I Tim Allen-it , swing on by the Home Depot and give it a go with some big sheets of plastic? Anyone do this before? Bob Villas in the house, point me in the right direction.
