I am in day 3 of the 12 Days of Burning Vacation. My shopping is long done. I have started the Cleaning of the House. I'm not reading because I am still trying to finish the "homemade" gifts. But I am watching a lot of TV.
I am on Disc 3 of Lost Season 3 and took a break. Because would you believe that I hadn't seen the 5th Harry Potter movie yet? My disgust with movie theatres has gotten so bad that I didn't even go see Harry Potter.
A couple of weeks ago, I walked into a theatre on a Saturday around lunchtime. The kids were so annoying - in the lobby - that I couldn't make myself buy a ticket.
I expect I will not be motivated to see a movie in the theatre until Indiana Jones.
Anyway - the Hary Potter movie was reliably good, but it seems to me they are getting somewhat less faithful to the books. Time constraints, I suppose. The canvas has gotten too big.
I caught most of White Christmas on TV last week, and I know the definitive Christmas Carol - George C. Scott - has been around. But I have not seen Barishnikov in the Nutcracker. I should just buy the DVDs.
I have tickets to the real theatre tonight, if I can just live through the Bears game. I am doing an awful lot of sitting around.
