So we got the letter on Friday from Raine & Horne, 'as you know your lease ends on the 3 October 2009, we have been asked by the owner to deliver vacant possession on that date'.
On top of that we have a rent inspection this week and I need to get the lawn mower going (hopefully it just needs a new spark plug).
So glad that we will be moving into our very own little villa - no more rent inspections, and no more MOVING.
I saw something cool on one of those home renno shows last night where you can get an attic ladder and your roofspace insulated and ventilated and created into storage. We're culling 'stuff' like crazy but it would be so good to be able to have that extra 'light storage' for camping gear (tents, camp mattresses, camp stoves - but not the gas bottles, sleeping bags), sporting gear, and all the other random stuff we have in plastic boxes at the moment. There's not much spare room in the store room once we put our gardening stuff and some bike stuff in there. It would also ensure that the 'spare room' is free of our stuff so that we can have a housemate. It will increase the value of the place (will add like 20sqm of storage space), but not sure where it would go in the priorities.
House wishlist:
Solar Hot Water System
PV electric system
Plumbed 2,500L rainwater tank
Greywater recycling system
Attic conversion
Paint all walls and ceilings
Ceiling fans & mains powered smoke detectors & new light fittings
Kitchen reno (including a dishwasher!)
Bathroom reno (new bath & vanity, re-enamel tiles to desired colour)
Swap out the living room carpet for something else (not decided what yet)
Nic is going to get a council skip bin so that we can ditch things that we were forced to move before, like the poles for the gazebo that Nic wasted $75 on - used it once and then it got all twisted up on a windy day.
Anyway, better get to doing some work. Not feeling that great today but at least if I get a few things done it will be better than nothing!
