Summary: Seo Juhyun has ruined it for herself. She's cast out of the order, banished to Earth and stripped of her memories. There she is taken under the wings of eight girls who shelter and protect her, but she is alone at her new school and vulnerable to the danger of this new world which would take every opportunity to corrupt her. Danger and temptation comes in the form of Jung Yonghwa, and the newly named Seohyun can do very little to resist...

Taeyeon hustled her into a cab and barked an order at the driver. The ride was blissfully short and before long they had arrived at an apartment building which Seohyun gingerly followed Taeyeon into. The petite brunette was familiar, her name and her voice like echoes from her past, but this building was alien and foreign to her. If not for Taeyeon's presence - already a comfort to Seohyun - she would undoubtedly have been a lot more scared.

“You found her! Oh thank Gahee!”

As soon as Taeyeon had opened the door Seohyun found herself the recipient of both a high pitched shriek and at the wrong end of a flying leap that became a hug. If she hadn't been quite so tall as she was, she would have been on the floor because of the force of the tackle from the deceptively fragile looking girl.

“Hyunnie we've been looking for you for ages now, we've been so worried!”

Seohyun turned to look at Taeyeon in hopes of rescue, the strangling weight of a fully grown girl hanging from her throat beginning to get uncomfortable.

“Woah there, tiger. There's a bit of a problem.”

The girl suddenly flew off Seohyun, black eyes now wide with worry. “What? Did something happen? Did somebody do something to her? What happened?”

Taeyeon placed a comforting hand on Seohyun's shoulder, the action triggering that now familiar feeling of all this having happened once before.

“Seohyun seems to have lost her memory.”

The black eyes grew wide. “Oh.” Two hands flew up to cover the unknown girl's mouth. “Oh.” The exclamation slipped through slim fingers.

“I'm sorry,” Seohyun offered, beginning to feel slightly uncomfortable at how long the other girl seemed to be able to go without breathing.

“Did something happen?”

And before she could blink five girls seemed to materialize in front of her eyes, all of them dazzlingly pretty and in various states of undress.

Seohyun saw Taeyeon frown out of the corner of her eye.

“Where's Jessica?”

“Still in bed, where else?” A girl with a slice of toast in her hand replied, the words muffled around the bread that was very obviously stuffed in her mouth.

“Some things never change...” Taeyeon muttered, confusing Seohyun no end. “Okay ladies, listen up. Seohyun,” Why did Taeyeon always put so much emphasis on her name? “Has lost her memory and probably has no clue as to who you all are. So introduce yourselves. Please.”

The girls collectively flinched back at the news that Seohyun had no memory. A part of her began to hurt at the pain that was so clearly in these girls' eyes and again she felt like she needed to apologise. “I'm really sorry.”

“Oh no, Hyunnie, it's not your fault.” The girl who'd attacked her took one of Seohyun's hands in hers. “My name is Tiffany,” she said excruciatingly slowly.

“Fany for crying out loud it's not like she's mentally retarded or something.”

“Yoona!” Tiffany cried out askance, head whirling around to glare at a fetchingly pretty girl whose mouth was skewed into a mischievous smirk. Seohyun already liked her, this Yoona. There was something about her manner, the way she didn't seem to take any kind of crap and how she seemed to always be ready for a little bit of fun. The traits were endearing in this girl who looked like an angel.

“Well she's only telling the truth. Just cause Ju- Seohyun doesn't have any memories doesn't make her stupid or something.” A curvaceous girl, whose every movement was sensual, attracted Seohyun's attention. She held out her hand, her grip firm and comforting, her brown eyed gaze steady and clear. This was somebody who would be loyal to the end and Seohyun trusted her already. “Hyoyeon.”

Seohyun was then confronted with a hand that was liberally sprinkled with crumbs, and as she tentatively took it she looked up in to a face with undeniably striking features. She would have called her beautiful, but it is very hard to find a girl beautiful when her cheeks are puffed out and bread still very obviously on her lips.

“mkenweefn Sooyoung.”

Seohyun shook Tiffany off her other hand to unconsciously rub at her own mouth, something that Sooyoung mirrored. But using the sleeve of her shirt instead.

Suddenly Seohyun felt a weight attach itself around her middle, and she looked down onto a head of mussed brown hair. An elegantly graceful girl then not so gracefully pushed her way in front of Seohyun and gave her a warm, friendly smile, totally belying that polished and cold exterior.

“I'm Yuri. That koala bear there is Sunny. Sucks about your memory, dude.”

“And you'll meet our resident princess later when she deigns to wake up,” Taeyeon added.

In the silence following the introductions Seohyun felt that it now fell to her to say something to the waiting girls she supposedly had known and lived with.

“So you all are sisters then?”

She wasn't expecting the chaos that ensued.

Bread came spewing out of Sooyoung's mouth as she choked, the majority of which landed in Sunny's hair who promptly screamed and leapt off of Seohyun to launch herself at the much taller girl. Hyoyeon immediately went to hold back Sunny's clawing hands from Sooyoung as both Yoona and Yuri doubled over in laughter. Tiffany merely clapped her hands together delightedly, seemingly completely unaware of what was happening.

“Sooyoung! I cannot believe you just- You filthy little-”

“Little? Look who's talking pint sized-”

“Sisters! What a brilliant idea!” Tiffany exclaimed, eyes glowing in a spaced out manner.

“Fany,” Hyoyeon grunted out against the strain of holding back a surprisingly vicious Sunny, “Don't just stand there clapping your hands like an idiot. And you two over there, stop laughing and help me out!”

As the six girls imploded onto each other, Yuri very authoritatively stepping in between Sooyoung and Sunny to separate them (but not really being as helpful as she probably intended) with Yoona ignoring Hyoyeon and continuing to laugh by herself, Seohyun turned to Taeyeon.

“Are they always like this?”

Taeyeon shrugged, a kind of dejected acceptance in her eyes, “Only on good days.”

And then a chill seemed to float in, stifling the girls' rowdiness and freezing the genial warmth in the air. A radiant blonde stood in the hallway, somehow still stunning despite the mess that was her hair and the deceptively cute pajamas, her posture exuding malice.

“What the hell is going on.” The question became more of a growl as her head raised, brown eyes flashing in annoyance and hatred, causing Seohyun to take a step back into Taeyeon's comforting presence.

Tiffany was the first to react.

“Sica!” She cried out happily, blissfully unaware of the other girl's black mood. She skipped over and enveloped the other girl in a tight hug, something that had Seohyun unconsciously reaching a hand out to her to stop her in case she was killed.

Hyoyeon turned around, smirking at the blonde even as Sunny continued to glare at Sooyoung who promptly stuck her tongue back out at the shorter girl. “The ice princess awakens.”

“Unnie,” Yoona chipped in, skipping towards the blonde but stopping short of hugging her at the glare the other girl gave her. “Look who we've found.”

As their gazes met, the other girl's posture changed entirely. The annoyed set of her shoulders softened, the look in her eyes warmed and suddenly the frozen ice princess of before had transformed into just another girl. “Hyunnie?” Her voice changed, from a low menacing growl to a high, delighted purr.

The girls surrounding Seohyun parted like the red sea as the blonde made her way towards her, skinny arms folding around Seohyun's neck as she gave her a gentle hug. Seohyun looked around wildly, eyes finally landing on Yuri who pointed at the blonde and mouthed exaggeratedly, “JESSICA.” She nodded in acknowledgement, giving the blonde a small smile when she detached herself.

Jessica fondly patted Seohyun's head, fingers affectionately ruffling her hair. “Well thank Gahee you're still intact.”

“Not really!” Sunny suddenly cried, eyes huge and glistening as she sniffed pathetically (how she managed to do all this but still be cute Seohyun had no clue).

One blonde eyebrow arched delicately. “What do you mean?”

“Seohyun,” Again with Taeyeon putting that ridiculous emphasis on her name, “Has no memory.”

Jessica froze in place. “Seohyun? No memory?” She turned her chilling gaze onto Seohyun. “Is this true?”

Feeling both intimidated and overwhelmed, Seohyun could do little more than nod at the blonde, whose eyes suddenly hardened into stone. Jessica turned to Taeyeon, swinging that chilling gaze onto the shorter brunette.

“As if this wasn't enough they had to go and take away her memories too?” The blonde's voice was below zero, low and filled with hate. “As if she wouldn't have to go through enough suffering without remembering who she is? As if banishment wasn't enough-”

“Sica-” Tiffany interjected in warning.

“Banishment?” Seohyun's clear voice rang through the house like a death knell. Silence fell over the girls, none of whom would meet her eyes.

After a long uncomfortable moment of silence Taeyeon finally said softly, “Come on. Let's get you out of that ridiculous dress.”

Placing both her hands on Seohyun's shoulders, Taeyeon drove her through the group of now awkwardly silent girls. It felt intrinsically wrong for the house to be as quiet as it was - Seohyun got the feeling that this was a place where silence was not the norm.

“This is your room. You've got it all to yourself, lucky thing.”

It was a small threadbare room, with not very much within apart from a single bed, a closet, a bookshelf, a desk and a chair. But the sheets on the bed were pink and floral, there were a few well thumbed books in the bookshelf and there were pillows in cheerful colours nonchalantly tossed on the bed and on the chair. And, most surprisingly, there were several gorgeous dresses in an array of shimmering colours and sheer fabrics in the closet that Taeyeon had flung open.

Seohyun sat on the bed, finally releasing the yards of white material that she'd been carrying in her arms and watched it, fascinated as the fabric pooled out onto the floor.

“Now,” Taeyeon said, voice muffled as she'd seemed to disappear entirely into the closet, “Jessica and Tiffany share the room that's directly opposite to yours. But I wouldn't go in there until after Sica's woken up, it can get pretty dangerous if you try any earlier than that. Yoona and Yuri have the room right next to you, with Hyoyeon and Sooyoung opposite them. Then it's me and Sunny at the end of the hall.”

Taeyeon popped her head out to look at Seohyun, whose face was resembling that of someone who'd just been frozen into shock. She smiled comfortingly. “Don't worry, there are names on the doors in case you get confused.”

“Unnie?” Seohyun cautiously ventured.

Taeyeon's head popped back around the closet door, “Yes, Seohyun?”

“I-” Seohyun stopped, dropped her gaze. Felt something constrict in her throat as she blinked back tears of both gratitude and sorrow. “Thank you,” she finished lamely, unable to say the words that she felt like she needed to.

Again that hand on her shoulder. Seohyun looked up to see a fondly smiling Taeyeon, a dress in her other hand.

“No problem, Hyunnie.” Taeyeon affectionately mussed Seohyun's hair before thrusting the dress at her. “Now get changed.”
