I know that this sounds completely ridiculous. I'm taking a humanities class this semester and were learning about ancient Mesopotamia. It's really cool. I was looking around online at art and writing that they used back then and I found the saddest thing ever. I can't believe that I didn't know about this already but apparently when the Iraq war started there were over 13,000 artifacts stolen from the museum which had the largest collection of Mesopotamian artifacts. The u.s did nothing to stop this from happening. So heres where it gets ridiculous. I saw this picture and it made me really sad.
I think about all of the damage that this country has done to that country as well as sooo many others. And then I started thinking about how irreplaceable those things are. They have survived for thousands of years in the hands of thousands of people. They represent who people are and why we are they way we are. They represent everything ever in the history of everything. And because of us they are gone. Am I crazy or is this seriously sad and fucked up?
