I am still in the wonderful land of Florida, and i am feeling the nice golden rays of the sun on my back.... but they aren't smooth, they are ROUGH!! Yeah its called sunburn..... My trip to the beaches are finally kicking in but all at once... thats a little summary of my skin care. Now to the spontaneous schedules i have, well yesterday i woke up around 2pm, (very refreshing) and Tim and I went to D'Abelo's (i think) and had a wonderful deli sub, fresh turkey with cheese and crispy lettuce and tomato, topped with a lil' mayo, on fresh baked bread. The whole place was an Italian cuisine, it was a great place for lunch that TIm picked. So we ate there and came back to Tim's house because we had decided on that day was a beach day!! More time to stare at the girls (woo hoo!!), nah there aren't that many cute girls there. But it was digging time!!! Joel and Robert came and it was very fun, this was Joel's first time to the beach since his teeth had been removed on early Friday morning. Joel came and brought the sun block lotion for me and Tim which had been blistered from the day before. It was quite an interesting feeling to be putting on sun block over burnt tissue and it hurts 10x's worse than it did in the shower. So Tim easily along with Joel put the sun block on my back as i did for them, but since i was a lil rough on Tim's back he took the opportunity to "smack" my back....AAAHHHHHH!!!!! I didn't say any of these *&%$#T&&%$# but if i didn't bite my tongue the devil sure could have chuckled over that moment (but i don't try to give him any of mine). So we got all lotion'd up and headed for the beach! Robert is in the sand digging away, because we were going to build a giant hold sea level deep, like the day before. Just this time were going to bury Joel in it. So thats what we did, incrementally we played some football passing, a lil Frisbee here and there, then ocassionally trips to the ocean to stay moist from the sun beating down on us. We dug deep for about an hour, until we hit the water. So cave in, after cave in, the whole became wider and wider. The sand became more and more like walls. So much for the tax payers of this town re-sanding the beaches, because were just tearing it up! All by hand we had a 5 ft wide hole in diameter, and about a good 3.5 ft. deep. Filled with sand and water we dug it out. What was just a little hole for fun became a fort for 4ppl. We started building the walls around the whole, and that created a lot of tourist attraction. We started to become an aerial attraction also, there were helicopters flying overhead looking to see what might we be digging for. I was hoping we'd find something of interest or maybe some rings or maybe even a mermaid...I guess we don't all get that lucky.... We continued bulding the walls of sand around the hole and increased our digging power to build more sand walls around the "fort". With the high tide coming in quicker than Tim or Robert and Joel could dig the fort was going to be taken over for good. With the walls up and the trench dug around the fort and Joel packing the sandy walls and Tim and Robert making mud pies this was going to be an excellent attraction. Now that i think about this experience we could have charged ppl. money to come look at the magnificent hole we dug. Oh well thats said and gone now so that was Saturday afternoon at the beach in the sand with my boys!! We journeyed on back to the car. Joel and I went to his house to shower up, and Tim and Robert went back to their house, (Tim dropped Rob. off at his house) while Tim went on home. On the way out of the beach Joel and I saw one of those detector things that searches for gold and things, they must really be healthy cuz the guy was skin and bones who was using it. He was kinda old so i guess thats the only thing he does for fun..... Can't quite swim in the ocean with the waves toppling him over (haha). That reminds me, i have never seen any old farts in the ocean. I guess they stay in the condo' or hotel's for the pool. Maybe that is better on the skin or something. Well then on Saturday night the boys and i went out to Chilis!!!! I had a blast, ( i don't get out much), we had the "Awesome Blossom (blooming onion), and the Nacho supreme". It was fantastic, along with my NY Strip steak and portabella mushrooms, onions and loaded mashed potatoes. It was delicious, and custom made lemonade in my "FREE" water. By the way, next time i go out i think i'm taking the water instead, its saving me close to 2.00 for a drink!! Yeah! Plus it's healthier and i won't gain as much weight so i can look nice on the beach. (haha). So we ate there and dropped by Blockbuster to rent some movies, but we actually just got a game for Xbox! Continuing along the game was "Ninja Turtles" intending on getting a hockey game or basketball, but they were all out. We needed something with 4 players so thats what we got. It was alright but it lasted about 30 min. until we popped in the Halo 2. I was horrible but what does it matter, i'm an amateur at everything..... We played that until about 12:30am and everyone was tried, so we quit and Tim and I got ready for bed, i was already there on my futon and he in his bed, lights were out. Joel and Rob were on their way home. Going to sleep after eating airheads the whole night leaves quite a taste in your mouth..... So it's sunday morning and we sleep right through church, (Father forgive me). We get up about 11:30 and get showers etc. and Tim takes me over to Joel's house (yay!!), so then Tim and his father can go chase the white ball around the golf course. (haha). Which will be me in several years or so... Then i eat dinner with Joel's family and her sisters friend. So we finish up there, and head out to a condo's pool. It was great, we played volleyball and swam. We even got a tan there too, i'm so brown i'll get back on the plane and probably be searched looking like an Cuban or something. (haha, sorry Navarro i had to throw that one in there LOL). So we made it back to Joel's house and i changed out of my wet bathing suit into nice dry, warm clothes. That is where i stand up until this point. I'll probably go play volleyball tonight (yay!!) and chill with my bro's (boys). It's a great vacation so far and pray that the rest of my vacation remains this way!!! I pray that everyone else that is vacationing is enjoying their time as much as i have. God Bless everyone this summer, stay safe and be smart!!
God Bless,
Darren Rayburn
(Thanks Joel, Tim and everyone else for a wonderful summer!)
