for the first time since i've been on the crew, we have a full crew. four people. as a result, i am now frozen foods manager and officially have the title of night crew supervisor. i also threatened to leave unless i received a substantial raise, which i got. it wasn't an idle threat either...academy offered me almost two bucks more an hour than i was getting previously, which albertsons has now more than matched. ;)
i say it's about damn time.
in other news, i ran at about 11P last night, and i decided to take a detour from my usual eight mile route to make it ten miles (i was feeling good). i went through montclair (a largely minority-inhabited community), and at one point was passing a group of young black men smoking marijuana. as i went by, one of them offered me (very politely, i might add) a puff of his joint.
i just thought it was hilarious that people offer smokes to runners.
i say it's about damn time.
