The most important thing in life is challenge. Challenge allows the human mind motivation to conceive a means to an end. Through this, a person can achieve great things. To every pro there is a con, as to every hero a villain. Likewise, to every goal there are challenges, and obstacles that one must overcome. Many say that they have grown from the challenges that they have overcome. For me, this holds true. It is however, the time between the point of realization, to the point of resolve that has made the most difference to me, and I feel that most students do not recognize this important part of their evolution of character. Most students only recognize the solution to their challenge, ignoring the crucial steps that brought them there. Through life, my approach to challenges has helped me understand my self, others, and life concepts, more thoroughly.

As a student, but more importantly a human being, I recognize motivation as a paramount element to the success of an individual in society. For me, motivation is a tool that once put in motion is hard to slow down. I find that motivation, allows one to accomplish challenges despite the obstacles in the way. In my case, motivation is often a fatal flaw. The frustration generated by the inability to overcome a challenge initially, can make problem solving hard. Eventually however, persistence prevails, and the problem is eventually resolved.

In addition to myself, my knowledge gained from solving problems, also applies to my interactions with people day in and day out. As noted earlier, frustration can often hamper one’s ability to deal with a problem. It is through my analyzation of my own thought process however, that I have learned that patience is a most important virtue when it comes to dealing with people. Through the years I’ve found that one can achieve the best results with people by being dynamic. This means maintaining an ever changing approach when dealing with people that you interact with in your every day life. This means being firm enough in your ideals not to stray from your own personality, while being flexible enough to adapt to another person, allowing communication to occur more  efficiently. This approach has helped me understand people better exponentially.

Not only have challenges helped me understand my self, and others, it has also helped me understand concepts that would otherwise seem foreign to me. I find that by facing challenge after challenge, I help build a logical thinking process that helps me decipher complex concepts. This step by step method seems to be able to be applied in just about any facet of life. Without challenges, my ability to understand my own thought process would be severely impaired. Therefore, I welcome a challenge, in hopes that it will help bolster my thought process.

I firmly believe in building a foundation for education. In my seventeen years of life, it has become clear that challenges provide the material to construct this foundation. The importance of continuous challenge is predominant to my continuing education. I hope that by building this foundation through challenge, I can continue to build on it, an education that can benefit both my self, and those around me.
